How Serbia showcases its startup community at the Paris Olympics

The Olympics offer a chance for businesses to gain global visibility, and this year, Serbia is participating with its own national house in Paris. The house hosts 30 companies, including the startup Reputeo, whose software enhances data collection with advanced solutions for due diligence, KYC, reputation measurement, and tracking data sales and distribution.

The Serbian startup, led by CEO Ivan Kadić, will be part of the Serbian House from July 30 to August 4. During this time, Kadić and other Serbian and international leaders will attend B2B meetings, business forums, and investment days in Paris.

“We are very grateful to be among the 30 companies from Serbia that will be part of the Serbian House in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games. Alongside Reputeo, there are some of the largest companies in Serbia, so it is a great honor to be invited by the Serbian government and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The Olympics, more than anything, is a showcase of persistence, hard work, and dedication, and this blend of sports and business demonstrates how innovative France is and how much it desires to collaborate with other countries around the world,” Kadić tells IT Logs.

Serbia is one of the 20 countries invited to present the best companies, and technology is one of the business sectors of the future. The Ambassador of Serbia to France, Ana Hrustanović, said that this year Serbia and France are marking 185 years of diplomatic relations, and that Serbia has been a strategic partner of France since 2011.

Hrustanović invited French companies to invest in Serbia, pointing out that “Serbia is a dynamic market in the Western Balkans, which has attracted 80 percent of French investments in the region.” She added that, both in sports and in the field of economy, Serbia “aims to win medal” through increased investment and cooperation with French partners.

According to her, the integration of AI into the Games is proof of how technology can transform traditional industries. At the same time, this is an invaluable experience for the Serbian startup ecosystem.

“It showcases our capabilities and encourages collaboration with global entities, ultimately contributing to the growth and recognition of our local innovations. By making an impact at the Olympics, we hope to inspire other startups, attract global attention, and stimulate investment and collaboration that will enhance our ecosystem,” she says.

What’s the best way to showcase your startup during such a massive event? Meetings and networking.

“We look forward to a series of meetings and getting to know other companies from 20 countries. We also believe that we will present Serbia’s startup ecosystem in a positive light and create strong connections with French companies,” Kadić points out, adding that one of their goals is to explore AI applications, learn from France’s approach to AI, and seek potential partnerships with French and other international companies.
