SEE Tech News: Google Wallet, Greece Under a Cyberattack, Blockchain Deal in Albania, Serbian IT Ecosystem…

Google Wallet became available to 5 more counrties, mainly in the Balkans. Wallet is now fully functional in Albania, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. This expansion follows the 12 countries that Wallet has already been available. However, not all banks in each country support the digital wallet. Yet, this is a big step forward in the process of digital transformation. *Source

  • The Education Ministry of Greece says it has been targeted in a cyberattack described as the most extensive in the country’s history, aimed at disabling a centralized high school examination platform. *Source
  • Albania carried out the first blockchain real estate deal. The asset management provider Heritage carried out the blockchain transaction by tokenizing an apartment in the southwestern city of Vlora worth 60,000 euro. *Source
  • The Serbian IT ecosystem has produced value of more than one billion dollars, Startup Genome reports. The report covers the period between 1st of July 2020 and 31 December 2022 where the Belgrade and the Novi Sad IT ecosystem produced growth of 75.41% compared to the previous period. *Source
