  • Estonia-based software developer Nortal has acquired distributed software firm Questers Resourcing and Questers Bulgaria from UK-based TPXimpact Holdings for 7.5 million British pounds. Sofia-based Questers, which employs over 300 staff, will be merged into Nortal’s outsourcing and team augmentation business. Previously, Nortal expanded its outsourcing to six other countries, including Serbia. *Source
  • The Croatian company Smart Sense which is making air quality sensors is expanding into the EU and UK markets. The expansion is helped by the company Also International Services, a large Swiss distributor. *Source
  • The University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia is in charge of a European project featuring four other partners aimed at developing cutting-edge machine learning applications to take on some of the toughest challenges in data science, space research, medicine, linguistics and climate research. The SMASH project is worth 10 million Euros, and it is financed by the European Union. The goal over the next five years is to attract 50 postdoctoral researchers from all over the world, including Slovenian researchers who work abroad. *Source
