With a huge party of about 200 visitors, the Swedish company Polar Cape celebrates the official opening of its new office in the City Gallery on Macedonia Square. Polar Cape was founded in 2010 in Stockholm, Sweden, and the first Macedonian representative office was opened in 2011 in Skopje. In addition to the one in Skopje, they recently opened an office in Bitola.

The Polar Cape’s offices situated in Skopje spread over 1400 square meters of open work space and, fully adapted to company needs, can accommodate personnel of more than 150 people. There are 15 large and small conference rooms, an amphitheater for sharing educational content, as well as appropriate accommodations for the purposes of entertainment and relaxation.

The party was set in motion with a short address from the general director of the company, Simon Forshaw, and continued with an assortment of music and cocktails until late at night. The party was attended by the employees of Polar Cape, mostly Swedish and local long-term collaborators, but was also graced by the Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Ms. Ami Larsson Jain, who had the following to say and mark the occasion:

“I am delighted to see the Swedish business community in North Macedonia grow, also in the IT sector. It’s great to see that Swedish companies like Polar Cape can attract young talent from North Macedonia and combine the best of both cultures to create a stimulating work environment. Polar Cape’s Graduate Program shows the commitment of this Swedish company to not only investment in business excellence, but also in professional development of the young generations of North Macedonia.”

The founders of the company, otherwise long-time colleagues and friends, founded the company with the idea of creating a working environment in which they themselves would enjoy being productive in. This way of thinking over the years has attracted a significant number of professionals from the IT industry. The company is appealing to prospect candidates because of the working conditions, but also because of its rich resume, which includes successfully completed projects for numerous well-known names from the Swedish and international business scene.

Polar Cape is the only IT company in Macedonia that is certified by the Great Place to Work® Institute from Sweden in 2022. The company has been cooperating with the institute since 2014 and has used the data from this cooperation to constantly improve the conditions that are being offered to the employees.

Results from 2022 showed that 91% of employees consider Polar Cape to be a Great Place to Work. A survey average of 70% is required for certification, and Polar Cape achieved an average of 88%.
