Windows 10 build 15007 has been available for a while and Windows Insiders can freely glimpse into what the future holds. Dedicating their full attention to gamers and promising that ‘2017 is going to be a monumental year for gaming at Microsoft’, the Redmond giant is taking all the feedback into account and is working to improve upon:
- Streaming
- Performance
- People and
- Competition
In regards to the competitive part, Xbox Live gamers will get the Arena and with it, the possibility to create and partake into gaming tournaments. With the acquisition of Beam, however, Microsoft is really pushing its limits to become a serious candidate in terms of streaming games.
“Beam will connect to your Xbox Live account, making it easy to stream your favorite games to Beam and your Xbox Live community. No extra software is needed and viewers anywhere will be able to watch your streams and interact with your broadcast”
What interest us the most is perhaps the introduction of the so-called Game Mode, a tool that is supposed to increase the performance by shutting down unnecessary apps and processes that aren’t critical when running a certain game. Doing so, will supposedly contribute towards a more optimized experience because all of the resources will be used for running the game.
Microsoft had something to say on this as well: ‘Our goal is to make Windows 10 the best Windows ever for gaming. With the Creators Update, we’re introducing a new feature called Game Mode. Windows Insiders will start seeing some of the visual elements for Game Mode this week, with the feature being fully operational in builds shortly thereafter.’
Simplified and upgraded experience is to be expected with Xbox Guide as well and we’ll be able to record GameDVR clips, adjust the recording length, and access our captures directly in the Guide, no matter what we’re doing. New Achievement tracking overlay, Gamerscore Leaderboard as well as a new Cortana design are also in the cards!
Windows 10 Creators Update is out in April!
